How pricing & fees work

Short answer: Piskes Agent can be used two ways.

Personal use (signed out): models run on your own API key, called straight at the AI provider. Piskes charges nothing. The provider bills your account with them.
Signed in to Piskes: model calls go through Piskes and are paid from the credits on your Piskes account. No provider key needed.

Credit prices are published by the Piskes platform, not set in the app. This page only explains which way the money goes.

Two routes for the model

In Settings → AI model, “Where model calls go” has two options:

Your own key (BYOK)	No	The AI provider, straight to your account	No workspace ceiling

Choosing Your own key shows a warning: your own key is not counted against Piskes credits and has no workspace spending ceiling. Piskes adds no fee on calls made with your own key.

Choosing Through Piskes while signed out means every model call is refused until you sign in.

What signing in does

Signing in opens your machine’s browser. You sign in to your Piskes account there. The app never sees your password. After sign-in:

Model calls through Piskes are paid from credits.
Your workspace policy (approval level, forbidden actions) applies to bots on this machine.
Memory lives on the platform, shared across your devices and agents.piskes.com.

Signing out returns the app to Personal use: memory on this machine, models on your own key.

Checking balance and usage

Settings → Account & Usage → Credit balance: your real platform balance, read directly from Piskes.
Usage on this computer: tokens and estimated cost per model. For reference only. The platform manages the spending ceiling and credits; the app does not block on these numbers.
